Millicent Golf Club Women’s Results 20.3.19

23 Women arrived at the Millicent Golf Course on Wednesday 20th March expecting to play in warm conditions, however the weather was more than ideal for golf, the Competition was Stableford and there were some excellent scores submitted.
Helen Chilton blitzed the field with an amazing 41 points to be the clear winner of the A Grade Competition from Kirsty Bailey, who also had a good score of 38 points.
Barbara Sapiatzer was very happy with her round of 37 points and this was good enough to claim the B Grade prize from Pam Packer on 35 points.
The Ball Winners were Amber Buhlmann with 37 points , Carmel Cory 34 points and Lyn Watson claiming the countback from Mardi Sunderland with 33 points.
Helen Chilton parred the back nine and won the Nine Hole Competition with a fantastic score of 24 points.
Nearest to Pin on the 3rd was Kathy Sporer and the 13th was Helen Chilton.
Nearest to Pin for two for A Grade on the Par 4, 12th hole was Helen Chilton, The B Grade Nearest to Pin for 2 on the 17th was won by Helen Ferguson and the Nearest to Pin, second shot on the 5th for Handicaps 32 to 45 was won by Pam Packer.
Helen Chilton birdied the Par 3 13th hole to receive a golf ball, she also scored two other birdies on the back nine, a great day out by Helen.
Next week’s Competition is Par, playing a round for the Anne Whitty Memorial Trophy, please submit names by 9.15am for a 9.30 hit off.
Golf South East Women’s Pennant matches commenced on Monday 18th March.
The Millicent Golf Club A Grade team got off to a great start at the Naracoorte Golf Club with a 5 nil win over Bordertown.
Kirsty Bailey defeated Karon Dinning4/3, Sue Agnew defeated Bink Barras 3/2, Mary Winser defeated Sharon Leigh 7/6, Virginia DeDonatis defeated Marcia Ryan on the 19th hole and Mardi Sunderland defeated Carleen Leach 4/2.
The Division 2 team were defeated 3 matches to 2 by Blue Lake at Penola Golf Club. The successful Millicent women were Val Williams who claimed her match 2/1 and Rose Hunt won her match on the 18th hole, 1 up.
On Monday 25th March, both teams play at Beachport Golf Club, the A Grade team play Robe and the Division 2 team play Kingston

Saturday 16th March

The last monthly medal round for season 2018/2019 was played on Saturday in very pleasant conditions which seen 31 men take out cards and 3 ladies played in their usual Saturday Stableford. Scoring was tough with many players finding the perfect weather for golf not to their liking. Saturday’s golf was also the last round of the summer eclectic as well which was taken out by Committee Person Martin Cameron with an impressive net 54.1 from Scott Lonergan in second on net 54.8 The winner of the Monthly Medallist of the year was Paul Whitford who was one of two golfers to break their handicap on the day this score was also good enough to take out the B Grade, Runner up in the B Grade was Chris Bailey on a Net 72 winning this position on a Countback from young golfer in Liam Chant on 72.Brian Thompson was the other golfer to break his handicap with a net 71 which resulted in Brian winning the A Grade from Scott Packer on a net 73. Paul Whitford also won the putting competition with 26 putts and the ball rundown winners were Liam Chant, Michael McRostie and Captain Trevor Atkinson. Two birdies were all there was on Saturday and the Father and son combination getting one each in Terry and Liam Chant. Liam Chant also took out the nearest to pin on the Third, The sweet swinging golfer in Matthew Warren won the 5th Nearest to Pin, Southern Ports winner Terry Chant claimed the 13th Nearest to Pin and the all-round sportsman in Justyn Saint claimed the 17th.Karen Altschwager found the pleasant conditions to her liking with a great score of 36 stableford points and this score was enough to claim the Ladies winner from Kathy Sporer on 35 points.

Thursdays usual Stableford competition was won By Manny Fuentes with a blistering 41 stableford points from Bruce on 37 points and Graham “Arch” Sunderland snuck in for third position with 36 points. The front nine winner was Graham Sunderland and Brian Thompson won the nearest to pin on the fifth which Brian also Birdied and Terry Chant Birded the 3rd.

Don’t forget we have the Good Friday Ambrose coming up on April 19 so please get your teams organised for this event, the Club is also looking for volunteers to help on this day even if it’s only for a few hours.

Millicent Golf Club Results – 6.3.19

The Millicent Golf Club Ladies held the Opening Day of the Season on Wednesday, with 19 Ladies attending.
Amber Buhlmann was welcomed back to the club after having not played golf for a number of years, also welcomed was Judy Kramer, who had previously competed at the 9 Hole Golf Course at Hatherleigh.
The Competition of the day was a 9 Hole Ambrose and this was won by Sharne Peacock, Tanya Payne and Kirsty Bailey.
Runners up were Helen Chilton, Amber Buhlmann, Josie Davies and Julie McKenzie.
Next Wednesday’s Competition is Stableford, with points to count towards the Heather Walker Memorial Trophy.
