From The Bunker

Millicent Golf Club Saturday competition was played in fine weather conditions and the course is certainly lapping up some of the rain that has been around of late and the greens are getting better with every week that goes by. The return of local footy in both local comps and the South East Veterans week away impacted the field size which saw only 25 Players take cards out for a normal Stableford event. It was Greg Cook who was on fire all day and he was certainly cooking with Gas which saw him compile a great 41 Points. This was the best score of the day for both grades and he clinched the win in the A Grade from his great mate in Mark Pretty on 34 points on a count back from the unlucky Mark Pilmore also on 34 points. Jim Hyland played very consistently to compile 38 stableford points and get the win in the B Grade from Geoff Cameron on 37 Points. Trevor Atkinson took the Third nearest to pin, Club president Owen Merrett won the fifth, Club Captain Trevor Atkinson won the 13th and Mark Pretty won the 17th. Mark Pretty was the only Golfer to get a birdie all day which was on the 17th. The ball run down went the way of Chris Agnew on 35points from Local Business Owner/director Mark Pilmore on 34 points.

Don’t forget the good Friday Ambrose even is on this Friday and it’s still not too late to get teams in for this event.
