Only a small field took to the course last Thursday to compete in a stable ford competition played in cool calm conditions it was Craig Kuiper who jumped out of the blocks early to put the pressure on the rest of the field winning the front 9 hole competition with 19 points, Terry Chant was doing all the chasing to grab second spot from Arch Sunderland in a count back with both players finishing with 18 points. On the turn for home, it was Kuiper who held his good form to run away with an easy win finishing with 39 points, as with the front 9, Chant knocked off Sunderland in a count back for second spot as both players finished with 35 points. Kuiper capped off a good day out winning the nearest to the pin on the par 3, 5th hole. The winter sun finally broke through last Saturday as the field took to the course to compete in a stable ford competition and once again it was Andy Varcoe who dominated the day winning the A-grade with 37 points, also the nearest to the pin awards on the 3rd, & 13th holes and the 2nd shot to the 18th green, Varcoe has had a big winter dominating in the cold rainy wintery conditions and is in the best form of his career. Ben Golding finished in a close second finishing with 36 points while Paul Whitford and Alan Schultz had to settle for third with 35 points. In the B-grade it was Geoff Cameron getting up in a count back from the unlucky Mike McRostie winning with 32 points, Scott lonergan was close behind in third spot with 31 points.
